On Sunday October 20, 2019 from 9am-2pm, community members and volunteers will convene to start shaping a better welcoming Lake Street Corridor. Following up on the mini-charette hosted in May 2019, community partners will start to physically highlight our natural resources and assets by cleaning up the western perimeter of Muchattoes Lake.
Many residents and passerbys forget this natural beauty and the hidden waterfall. Therefore we will reveal it by creating an opening at South William Street and by the Newburgh-New Windsor Bridge . This is one step closer to making it a recreational corridor and re-connecting the area’s natural assets anchored by Crystal Lake, Quassaick Creek, Muchattoes Lake and Delano-Hitch Park: the “emerald necklace”.
